When I start my writing at 6am, it is still dark outside, and I think of this quote from Bruce Cockburn … It’s what drives my story along, and propels my characters and storyline forward.

A world where nothing is as it seems. Double dealings and death are everywhere. There are more questions than answers. Ruthlessness holds the same currency as tact. Where everyone has an alias, and friends turn into foes. It’s a world where mystery thrills and thrillers hold mystery. It’s the world I write about.

Michael Pinkus was raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Had a brief career in radio broadcasting, before becoming an award winning wine and travel journalist, which he has done for the past 20+ years. An associate member of the Crime Writers of Canada, Alumni of Pocket MFA, and a veteran podcaster of both wine and writing.
Most early-mornings you can find Michael huddled at his little table writing until the sun comes up.
The stories are short, the ideas are not. They don’t always follow my ethos. Not all are mysteries or thrillers. Some are comedic, others dramatic. Some are science, all are fiction.
